the airport of Faro will start the 3rd phase of the Contract for Parks, New Road Accesses, Curbsides and Landscape Reorganization, tomorrow, Wednesday, October 19th.

To mitigate the functional impacts that may occur in this phase of the work, which is expected to last four months, the work foresees a gradual intervention in the various areas.

Thus, from November 1st, there will be new locations for Car Parks and new names. The current P3 will be renamed P0, the current P4 (Parque de Avenças) will be relocated at the entrance to the Airport, while the new Car Park P3 will come into operation, north of the Rent-a-Car area.

With regard to accesses and streets, a new roundabout and new pedestrian accesses will appear.

As of October 24th, the opening of the new access is foreseen, which will allow the return to the Aerogare without having to go through the Rotunda. On the same day, the new street, located to the east of the new P4 Park, will be partially opened.

Tomorrow, the 19th, the construction of the new street, located south of the Rent-a-Car area, will begin, as well as the construction of the new roundabout and respective streets, located on R. Egas Moniz.

As for Rent-a-Car, new pedestrian accesses will appear. As of tomorrow, the 19th, construction will begin on the new pedestrian access to the Rent-a-Car area, from the Aerogare.

António Correia Mendes, Director of the Airport of Faro, recommends that, «for a better interpretation of the alterations to be contemplated at this stage of the work», the plan alterations should be consulted.

He adds that "all the mentioned changes will be supported with local signs to minimize any impact on the normal functioning of the Airport".
