The Alcoutim Festival ended its 60th edition at dawn on Monday, registering another success in the history of this well-known Algarve festival.
Three days of celebration, from 9th to 11th of September, from sunrise to sunrise, attracted thousands of visitors to the Alcouteneja village.
Sports activities, children's activities, street entertainment, shows at Praça da República, old-school dances, concerts, a disco and the characteristic “cocoa on the river”, made the desires of a very diverse audience.
For reasons related to cost containment, the Alcoutim local authority, organizer of the event, chose to shorten the party from five to three days, maintaining the usual quality.
As in previous years, the feast days were themed. Friday, on Municipality Day, the morning was marked by the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Alcoutim Party. On this night, singer Emanuel filled the “house”. ~
“Arte & Música e Big Band”, a band formed exclusively for the Alcoutim party, animated the Spanish Day, Saturday.
On Sunday, Youth Day, the group “Nu Soul Family” took to the main stage, which ended another year of celebration and entertainment.
The profits from the party reverted to the construction of Lar dos Balurcos, a work of the Association for Social Solidarity, Culture, Sport and Art of the Balurcos.
