The Pintor Samora Barros Art Gallery, in Albufeira, will host the exhibition “Pátria Minha”, by J. Eliseu and Sérgio Eliseu, from the 3rd to the 27th of September.

"My Homeland" is an exhibition that evokes the beauty of national places and traditions, portraits of a Portugal that has almost disappeared, and rural customs that are practically non-existent.

 The artists, father and son, sometimes resort to an interventionist painting that invites critical reflection, with the aim of revive the memories of the Portuguese, stimulating the bonds that define their identity.

J. Eliseu (father) currently runs a company dedicated to the creation, conservation and restoration of works of art, following a family tradition with centuries of experience. Alongside this work comes a passion for landscape painting.

Sérgio Eliseu holds a Doctorate in Art and Design from the University of Porto, Master in Contemporary Artistic Creation from the University of Aveiro, Degree in Art History from the University of Coimbra and holds the 1st Course in Fresco Painting Technique (Polytechnic Institute of Tomar ).

The exhibition “Pátria Minha” can be seen at the Pintor Samora Barros Art Gallery, from 10:30 to 16:30. The Gallery is closed on Sundays and holidays.
