Portimão Bicross Club becomes national BMX champion in Quarteira

The Clube Bicross de Portimão became national champion of BMX, in the competition that was held this Saturday in Quarteira.

For their part, Bruno Cardoso (Ain Cotiere BMX Sodicycle) and Rita Xufre (Núcleo Bicross de Setúbal/Knowledge Inside) revalidated their titles as national BMX champions.

In the men's BMX category, Bruno Cardoso confirmed his favoritism, imposing himself against Miguel Domingos (Team BMX Quarteira) and David Almeida (Núcleo Bicross de Setúbal/Knowledge Inside), renewing his status as an elite national champion.

For women, the age division was different. Rita Xufre, champion in title and still at cadet age, triumphed in the race for participants between 15 and 24 years old. In the category of over 25 years old, Mónica Gaboleiro prevailed.

The men's junior race saw the triumph of a home runner, Renato Silva (Team BMX Quarteira), as well as the cadets, with Lourenço Hartel winning.

In the men's school categories, the juvenile Francisco Sousa (Team BMX Quarteira), the children's Gonçalo Ribeiro (Clube Bicross de Portimão), the initiate Gustavo Pereira (Clube Bicross de Portimão), the Benjamin Isaac Borralho (AEBTT Rio/Mr. Print) won and his pupil Miguel Santos (Núcleo Bicross de Setúbal/Knowledge Inside). In the female sector of schools, the best were Carlota Santos (Casa do Povo de Abrunheira), in the 13-14 age group, and Maria Pinto, from the same team, in the 9-12 age group.

The victories in the veterans’ races were won by Carlos Rosado (Clube Bicross de Portimão), in BMX Race, while in cruiser they went to André Martins (Team BMX Quarteira), aged 30-39, and Paulo Domingues, aged over 40.
