circus schoolThe Circus School for All, organized by the Amarelarte association, will take place for the first time in Faro, during the first three weeks of the summer vacation.

There will be three weeks of artistic and circus program, during which children and young people over 6 years old have the opportunity to learn several different techniques, such as juggling, acrobatics, clowning, dance and rhythm, which will form the basis for the creation of a final show with sets and costumes created by the children, in order to create an artistic project that encompasses several artistic disciplines and that will be presented to the public.

Nicole Lissy, director of Amarelarte, had already talked about this project to Sul Informação. Two weeks ago, in an interview with our newspaper and RUA FM, he had admitted: «I myself have never learned any circus art, but I am interested. I thought it would be really nice to have a circus school for the children of Faro»

And what will the children learn at this circus school? Nicole explained that the idea is to create a program for three weeks, during which the children “would be with us all day, having the opportunity to learn several different techniques, such as juggling, unicycle, clown”.

In the second week, he revealed, «we join with the learned techniques, we are going to create an idea, we are going to create a theme, a message or a story that the children want to pass on, want to invent or work on. We added the creation of sets, costumes, in order to create an artistic project that encompasses all these disciplines, so that, in the third week, we can rehearse a show that will then be presented to the public».

The Escolinha de Circo para all@s will be open from June 15th to July 3rd, with the final shows already scheduled for the 4th and 5th of July. It will be open from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 17:00 pm.

Nicole Lissy also warned that «this year is a pilot project, it will start small, but I believe it has the capacity to grow».

Registration costs 70 euros per week and must be made via email [email protected] or telephone 960 017 127.
