The second edition of the “Nomad World Fest”, which took place in Albufeira, from 7 to 13 October, in a tent specially set up for the purpose, at Praia do Inatel and in the Sala Azul of the Inatel building, is an initiative considered by the organization as a transformative experience for digital nomads and remote workers from all over the world.
The event, which included expert talks, practical workshops and beachside fun, reinforces Albufeira's status in the digital nomad community.
This year, the “Nomad World Fest” was attended by 250 participants from various parts of the world.
The Mayor made a point of highlighting that Albufeira “is not just a holiday destination, it is also a municipality that has all the conditions to welcome so-called digital nomads”.
José Carlos Rolo added that this year alone, 1500 people have visited the Blue Room to work remotely, exchange contacts and, at the same time, become involved in community life.
The event, organized by Digital Nomads Association from Portugal (DNA Portugal) co-organized by the Municipality of Albufeira, included lectures by experts with extensive experience in remote work, web3, co-living, co-working, AI – Artificial Intelligence and the future of work.
In parallel to the lectures and practical workshops, the “Nomad World Fest” included a social program: a sunset with live music on the beach, a boat trip along the coast to see the dolphins and caves, Acro Yoga, a visit to Zoomarine, wine tasting and dancing, a Gala Dinner with showcooking, pedy paper, electronic music party and networking, paddle tennis lessons, volleyball, walks along the trails of Praia da Falésia, among other informal moments that aimed to introduce Albufeira to the participants of the event, promote socializing, sharing experiences and the opportunity to relax.
According to Albufeira City Council, “there were many positive reactions and praise for the event, particularly from the co-owner of the largest Nomad Festival in the World, Philipp Alexander Weber, who referred to the “Nomad World Fest” as an epic event”.
The initiative, in addition to having a “very positive impact on the participants’ experience, generated enormous visibility on social media, which reinforces Albufeira’s status in the Digital Nomad community”, adds the local authority.
Thus, in the last 90 days (July 30 to October 27) publications related to the event received 106 views, and by type of content the stories collected 36,6% of views, publications 37% and Reels 24,4%, and it should be noted that, in the period between September 12 and October 22 alone, 7000 were published stories.
Regarding posts published between June 28 and October 26, the average reach per publication was 240,25 (+926,37%) per post, compared to the last 12 months.
Regarding publications made between May 1st and October 7th, statistics show that they received an engagement of 168,26 (up 476.68%), reaching 862 interactions (up 7736,36%), also compared to the last 12 months of publications made on the event's Facebook page.
In the same period under analysis, publications about the event had an average reach of post of 240,25 (up 926,37%) and 142 in total publications (up 425,93%).
It is also worth noting that, in the top 10 countries that most searched for information about the Summit, Portugal appears in first place (26,88%), followed by the United States (12,10%), in third place is Spain (11,83%), followed by the United Kingdom (6,72%), Germany (3,49%), Italy (3,36%), Brazil (2,69%), the Netherlands (2,28%), Canada (2,15%) and Switzerland (2,02%).
The top 10 cities include Lisbon (3,49%), Albufeira (3,35%), New York (2,28%), Barcelona (2,02%), London (1,85%), Faro (1,61%), Funchal (1,48%), Olhão (1,21%), Porto (1,21%) and Cascais (2,02%).
