Imortal and Portimonense both achieved their sixth consecutive victory in the Algarve District Division I football this Saturday and gained, after the 6th round, a seven-point lead over the chasing duo.
The Albufeira team, which jumped to 1st place due to the better goal difference, and the Portimão team share the lead in the competition, with 18 points, seven more than the duo made up of Ferreiras and Silves.
Imortal won away to 11 Esperanças (6th, 10 points), in Faro, 3-0, with goals from Marocas (13 minutes), Ruca (44) and Walter Alves, in his own goal (70).
Also in the Algarve capital, the Portimonense men's senior team, no longer under the management of the SAD, had more difficulty in getting rid of Culatrense (10th, three points). João Marques opened the scoring for the visitors in the 48th minute, Tiago Buchinho equalized in the 84th minute, and Tiago Reis gave the victory to the “alvinegros” in added time (90+1).
Ferreiras recorded their third consecutive victory in Odiáxere (2-1) and took advantage of Silves' slip-up in Olhão to climb to 3rd place. Edinho Júnior (7 minutes) and António Santos scored for Ivo Soares' team and André Chamusca scored from the penalty spot (45) for the home team.
The team from Silveira was defeated 2-1 when they traveled to Olhanense 1912, who returned to winning ways with goals from Iaroshenko and Gonçalo Domingues.
Esp. Lagos also moved up the table, to 5th place, with 10 points, after beating Lusitano VRSA away (3-1), the only team yet to score in the championship. Sarpong (25 minutes), Herlânder (45) and Bigodinho (60) scored for the hosts, and Abdelmohcine reduced the deficit for the border team (82).
Moncarapachense B, 11th and second-to-last, picked up their first point of the season by drawing at home against Quarteirense (7th, nine points). The home team were winning, with a goal from Ricardinho in the 68th minute, but Diogo Marques equalised near the end (86).
The 7th round will be played next Saturday, November 9th, with the following matches: Esp. Lagos-Odiáxere, Imortal-Culatrense, Moncarapachense B-Lusitano VRSA, Quarteirense-Portimonense, Ferreiras-Olhanense 1912 and Silves-11 Esperanças.
