Algarve basketball player Clara Silva had a good debut in the North American university league (NCAA) this Monday, in the expressive home victory (98-43) of the Kentucky Wildcats over USC Upstate.

At Memorial Coliseum, with about 4.000 people in the stands, the pole, a native of Faro, who after college aspires to reach the WNBA, the North American women's league, was the first option to come off the bench, playing a total of 23m13s.

Clara Silva scored 14 points (6/6 on field goals), seven rebounds, six blocks (one away from equaling the team's all-time record) and two assists.

The 18-year-old player from Farense, who played for Farense, Imortal and, in recent seasons, Unicaja de Málaga (Spain) in her youth squad, stood out in the summer as one of the best players in the European Under-18 Championship, in which the Portuguese team secured qualification for the 19 Under-2025 World Cup.
