Algoz students plant a mini forest that is a classroom

This mini forest will be an “outdoor classroom”

Students from the EB 2/3 School in Algoz will plant a mini Miyawaki forest this Friday, November 8th. 

This action is part of the “One School, One Forest” project, developed by Nativawaky, and supported by the Rotary Club of Silves.

In addition to planting this mini forest, which is diverse in native species, the Biodiversity Laboratory will also be inaugurated. These two spaces will be complementary and will serve for the development of several activities, which will have as their foundations the area of ​​citizenship and development of young people and the school community.

A total of 330 trees (30 native species) will be planted, in an action that will involve the participation of 80 volunteers. The planting area is 110 square meters.

This mini forest will be an “outdoor classroom”, as it will facilitate the “exploration of different programmatic contents for all levels of education”, as well as the “carrying out of environmental awareness and educational activities” and contact with nature.
