“Transforming the way we experience traditional Portuguese taverns” is the invitation extended to those who visit the new restaurant at the Nau São Rafael hotel, in Albufeira.
Opened last Friday, October 11th, the Tavern It was designed for snack lovers, who in this case combine traditional gastronomy with innovation.
Black-eyed pea and apple salad (€8), octopus and tomato salad (€14), tuna escabeche (€12), pata negra ham (€16), roasted chorizo with cornbread (€16), island cheese with rosemary honey (€12) and tomato gazpacho with boiled egg and ham (€6) are some of the options.
On the menu you can also find caldo verde (€6), shrimp rissoles (€6), “piri-piri” chicken wings (€7) and meat croquettes with mustard (€5).
The wine list includes regional and national options, as well as cocktails.
“We wanted to bring a new perspective to Portuguese taverns, maintaining their soul and Portuguese identity, but adding a modern and charming charm. Tascaria São Rafael celebrates snacks as an essential part of Portuguese table culture,” says Mário Custódio, from Highgate Portugal.
Tascaria São Rafael is open from Wednesday to Sunday, from 17:00 pm to 23:00 pm, and has capacity for 80 people.
Reservations can be made by calling 289 540 300 or by email [email protected].
