This Saturday, Portimonense recorded their second win in two matches and maintained their 1st place in the Algarve District Football Division I, tied on points with 11 Esperanças and Imortal.

After the 5-0 victory over Moncarapachense in the opening round, the team led by Fábio Raimundo achieved another impressive result, beating Lus. VRSA in the Pombaline city, 6-2.

André Araújo (4 and 66 minutes), Oury (46 and 57), who scored twice, Alexandre Moutinho (20) and Pedro Félix (85) scored the goals for the “alvinegra” team, while Denis Zayats (61) and João Pais (86) scored for the hosts.

11 Esperanças achieved a victory by the minimum margin (1-0) at Olhanense 1912, thanks to a goal from substitute Fortunato, in the final stretch of the match (87 minutes), while Imortal beat Moncarapachense B away, by the same result, with a goal from Marocas, in the 77th minute.

After the 2nd round, Portimonense, 11 Esperanças and Imortal – the only 100% victorious teams – share the lead of the “Distritalão”, with six points.

With four points, two behind the leaders, are Quarteirense and Silves, who this Saturday, as visitors, beat Ferreiras (2-1), with a decisive goal in injury time, and Esp. Lagos (1-0), respectively.

At the Estádio da Nora, in Ferreiras, in the second half, Bruno Sales put the home team ahead on the scoreboard, in the 63rd minute, but goals from Nuno Silva, in his own goal (72), and Fábio Marques (90+6, from a penalty) ensured the comeback for the team from Quarteira.

In Lagos, the team from Silveira won their first match in the Algarve Football League and imposed the second defeat on the home team, thanks to a solitary goal from Rafa Pinto, in the 25th minute.

Odiáxere beat Culatrense at home, 4-2, with goals from Éder Tavares (17 minutes), Maranhão (40), Edy (58) and Júnior (78), for the home team, and Simão Mestre (10) and André Soares (77), for the visitors.

Still without points, after two matches, Esp. Lagos, Lus. VRSA and Moncarapachense B continue.

The 3rd round, scheduled for October 12th, includes the following matches: Portimonense B-Odiáxere, Culatrense-Olhanense 1912, Quarteirense-11 Esperanças, Silves-Moncarapachense B, Imortal-Lus. VRSA and Ferreiras-Esp. Lagos.
