Comet C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-Atlas, which passed Earth yesterday, October 13, was seen in the Algarve.
According to the Meteofontes page, the comet was sighted, with the naked eye, in Carvoeiro, «about 50 minutes after sunset».
In the comments box, there are those who say they also saw it in Alentejo.
This celestial body, according to NASA, has an orbit of 80 thousand years, which made this a rare opportunity to see it.
Furthermore, orbital models say that the comet will not approach Earth again for hundreds of thousands of years.
And it may even be the case that you never return.
