Accommodation units in the Algarve recorded a 1% increase in the occupancy rate per room in August, compared to the same month in 2023, the Algarve Hotels and Tourist Enterprises Association (AHETA) announced today.
According to Algarve hoteliers, the occupancy rate per room was 89,3%, a value close to that seen last year (+0,8 percentage points, +1,0%).
The markets that recorded the highest year-on-year growth were Germany (+1,2pp), the North American (+0,5pp) and the Dutch, with +0,4pp.
On the other hand, the main declines compared to August 2023 were recorded by the national market (-3,6pp) and the French market (-0,5pp).
The average stay was 4,8 nights, 0,2 below that seen in the same month of the previous year.
The longest average stays were in the Dutch market, with 7 nights, and in the Irish market, with 6.
