Ricardo Pessoa wants Portimonense focused after «very productive» break

Game at Torreense's home this Friday at 18pm

The Portimonense coach, who returns this Friday, September 13, to competition in the II Football League at Torreense's home ground, wants a team focused on victory, after a break that he considered «quite productive».

"Our focus is on victory, on three points, on Portimonense. That is always our focus and that is the basis on which I want to work, on which the club wants to work, on which the management wants to work. In that sense, we are all on the same page, because a club like Portimonense has to want to win every game," said Ricardo Pessoa, in statements released by the Portimão club.

After the 5-1 home win over Marítimo, in his debut game as coach, the break for national team games «came at a good time», because it allowed him to «get to know the group better» and integrate the players into the ideas of the new technical team.

«In that sense, there is no doubt that it was very productive and now we just hope to continue what we did during the break», reinforced the coach.

Against Torreense, who have won two consecutive matches, Ricardo Pessoa expects an “extremely difficult” and “very demanding game, both physically and mentally”.

The 5th round match between Torreense (5th place) and Portimonense (8th) is scheduled for 18 pm this Friday, at the Manuel Marques Stadium, in Torres Vedras.
