Portimonense was defeated this Friday at Torreense's home ground, by 3-2, in a game of the 5th round of the II Football League marked by two comebacks on the scoreboard and a decisive penalty in the 14th minute of injury time.

Vando Félix opened the scoring for the home team in the 22nd minute, and the Portimão team responded with “great goals” from Paulo Vítor (51) and Chico Banza (68).

After being reduced to 10 men, due to the expulsion of substitute Alemão, Portimonense saw their opponents turn the game around, with goals from Paraizo (82) and Tobias Thomsen (90+14, from a penalty).

Japanese defender Kobayashi, making his debut in the “alvinegra” jersey, was the only new addition to the Algarve team’s starting eleven, compared to the home victory two weeks ago over Marítimo (5-1).

The first half showed an unrecognizable Portimonense, which in addition to allowing the hosts to dominate the game, made an unprecedented number of individual defensive errors, creating several chances for an ineffective Torreense, who were winning 1-0 at half-time.

Among other opportunities, and in addition to Vando Félix's goal, with an acrobatic deflection after a cross from Dani Bolt, in the 23rd minute, Jefferson Maciel was decisive with a providential cut (10) and Nakamura made a great save from Pozo's shot (32).

Portimonense, who in the first half only created danger with a shot by Elijah Benedict that hit the post (18), changed two players and the tactical model in the restart, managing to turn the result around with two great goals.

Brazilian Paulo Vítor equalised with a bomb from outside the area with his right foot in the 51st minute, and Angolan Chico Banza, with his back to goal, after a corner, made it 2-1 with an acrobatic half-turn shot.

But the Alemão defender, on the pitch for less than a minute, was shown a red card in the 75th minute for fouling the isolated Luccas Paraizo, who six minutes later dealt another blow to the Portimão team, restoring parity.

When the draw seemed certain, Filipe Relvas cut the ball with his hand in the penalty area and referee Iancu Vasilica, after seeing the video referee images, awarded a penalty, which was accurately taken by Tobias Thomsen (90+14).

Portimonense remain in 8th place, with five points. Next week, the II Liga will be on hold for the Portuguese Cup, with the “alvinegros” facing Vianense away from home.
