Olhanense 1912 eliminated from the Portuguese Women's Cup in its absolute debut

Defeat by the smallest margin in Barreiro

Olhanense 1912 made their debut in senior women's football this Sunday with a narrow defeat (1-0) at Barreirense, in a qualifying round match for the Portuguese Cup.

At Campo da Verderena, in Barreiro, Catarina Carlos' solitary goal, from a penalty kick, in the 81st minute, meant the elimination of the Algarve team, coached by Bruno Patrão.

The first starting eleven for the Olhão team will go down in history, made up of Beatriz Dores (goalkeeper), Beatriz Fernandes, Filipa Neto, Beatriz Ramos, Yasmim Souza, Luna Ruivo, Daniela Dias, Lia Pina, Sara Conceição, Cátia Lampreia and Mariana Parreira. Ana Santos, Matilde Moreno, Telma Palma, Mónica Teixeira and Bianca Inácio also played.

Olhanense 1912 will now focus on the women's III Division, in which it is placed in Group N, with Ferreiras, who were exempted in the opening round of the Portuguese Cup.

In the first round, scheduled for September 1, the Olhão team will once again travel to Barreirense, while Ferreiras will play at the Setúbal Women's Football School.
