«Sport is a priority for the municipality», says the mayor of São Brás

The president visited the investments on Friday

“Sport is a priority for the municipality”, stated the Mayor of São Brás de Alportel during his visit this Friday, 13 September, to the Sousa Uva Football Field, which is undergoing rehabilitation works.

The works are being carried out with investment from the City Council, within the scope of a collaboration protocol between the municipality and the UDRS and with the support of the “Crescer 2024” fund, established by the Portuguese Football Federation and managed in the region by the Algarve Football Association, with the aim of providing «greater comfort and better conditions for the practice of sports to all users of the Football Field».

«Sport is a priority for the municipality, and this investment in Campo Sousa Uva is a clear demonstration of our commitment to providing quality infrastructure for the practice of sports», stated Vitor Guerreiro during the visit to the works, also recalling the contribution of 97.200 euros from the municipality in the work of
construction of the synthetic turf at the Afre Lourenço Football Field, around two years ago, an investment also made in partnership with the club within the scope of the Sports Facilities Rehabilitation Program (PRID), managed by the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth (IPDJ).

The Municipality of São Brás de Alportel is contributing 50.775,00 euros to these works, as part of an application by the UDRS to the “Crescer 2024” Fund, managed by the Algarve Football Association, which is contributing to the works in the same amount.

These rehabilitation works are being carried out by the São Bras company “Al-Consigne”, with a total investment of around
125 thousand euros.

The works focus on the rehabilitation of two buildings supporting the fields, the building that houses the changing rooms, the medical post and the changing rooms for referees, seniors and visitors, and the sanitary facilities building that includes the sanitary facilities for the public (men, women and people with reduced mobility), as well as the bar, the ticket office and the future headquarters of the fan club.

An effort defined by the chairman of the UDRS board as an important milestone achieved “thanks to the joint effort of the City Council and the Algarve Football Association with the support of CRESCER 2024” whose application was approved by the club's previous board.
