Moncarapachense returned to winning ways this Sunday in Series D of the Portuguese Football Championship and moved closer to the top of the table, in a 4th round in which Louletano and Lagoa drew.
At the Alfredo Marques Augusto Stadium, in Moscavide, the Moncarapacho team achieved their first away victory this season, defeating Estrela da Amadora B by the smallest of margins (1-0).
Experienced winger Tavinho, in his second game for the Algarve team, came off the bench in the 64th minute to score the decisive goal four minutes later.
The team led by José Bizarro jumped to 4th place, with seven points, three behind the lead shared by Sintrense and Louletano, both with 10 points.
The team from Loulé lost the lead after conceding a home draw with Barreirense (1-1). Guilherme Desembargador opened the scoring for the visitors in the 24th minute and an own goal by João Sousa in the 90+1 minute restored parity.
Lagoa, in 9th place, with four points, also drew (2-2), when hosting Estrela de Vendas Novas, in the first game of the season at Estádio Capitão Josino da Costa.
Leonardo Chão gave the Alentejo team an early lead (2 minutes), Jorge Teixeira (32) and Tommy Batista (49) turned the game around, but the Lagos team let victory slip away in injury time, with Daniel Pinto scoring the 2-2 at 90+4.
The Campeonato de Portugal returns in two weeks, on September 29th. The 5th round features an Algarve duel between Moncarapachense and Lagoa, while Louletano hosts Sintrense, in a clash between leaders.
