The “Algarvian” athlete Luís Costa presented, on a date after the Paralympic Games, an “adverse analytical result” in the anti-doping control test carried out in Paris, the Portuguese Paralympic Committee (CPP) reported this Tuesday, September 10.

After being notified by the International Paralympic Committee, the CPP informs that Luís Costa is thus “provisionally suspended, with the legal deadline for the athlete to exercise his right of defense running”.

In a note published on the official website, the Portuguese Paralympic Committee stresses that it “repudiates any form of tampering with results and strives for clean and transparent sport” and informs that in the training camp held at Cidade do Futebol, between 23 and 25 August, the athletes were controlled by ADOP.

Paracyclist Luís Costa, from Castro Verde in Alentejo who has lived in Portimão for decades, won the Paris'2024 Paralympic Games bronze medal in the H5 class individual time trial and came in fourth place in the H5 background test.
