Algarve MP Cristóvão Norte (PSD) considers it to be “very important” that the MotoGP Portuguese Grand Prix continues to take place next year, at the Algarve International Racetrack, in Portimão.
According to the parliamentarian, “DORNA’s decision regarding the Moto GP calendar for 2025 has been the subject of much anticipation.”
Cristóvão Norte, who is also president of PSD/Algarve, points out that “it is very important to maintain this event. For the Algarve, for Portugal, for tourism”.
“I know that a great effort is being made by all parties: the racetrack, the government, and tourism entities, to make this possible. They are all committed to working. I am confident, but these events are highly sought after for the return they offer,” he adds.
Furthermore, Cristóvão Norte believes that “it would, on the other hand, be a way of modestly honouring the memory” of Paulo Pinheiro, former CEO of the Autódromo who died this year.
