Vilamoura Golf Club was crowned national club champion in the men's sector, winning its 18th title in the competition held between Thursday and Sunday, 5th to 8th September, at Vidago Palace, in the district of Vila Real.

The men's competition had as a "big surprise" the triumph of the Vilamoura team against Oporto, four-time national champion, by 4-3, reports the Portuguese Golf Federation.

It was the return of the Algarve team to the status of national club champion for the first time since 2017, but this was the 18th title for their record.

The players who lifted the Viscount Pereira Machado Cup were Alexander Amey, Martim Pinto Johansen, Alexandre Castelo, João Crasi Alves, Jamie Mann, Tiago Abrantes and Francisco Reis.

In the women's category, Clube de Golf de Miramar achieved its third championship, thanks to a 3-2 victory over Oporto GC.
