Moura City Council ensured the transport of firefighters to the fires in the North of Portugal

The contingent was relieved by other firefighters who had already been in the theater of operations for two days.

The Moura Council guaranteed the transport of firefighters who left for the district of Aveiro, to replace other peacekeepers from the district of Beja who were fighting the fires that are ravaging the North of the country, announced the municipality.

The local authority «provided a public transport vehicle and two drivers who, during the early hours of Tuesday, the 17th, provided support to the surrender of the teams from the Beja district, belonging to the Reinforcement Brigade for Combating Rural Fires (BRIR), which is on a mission in the theatre of operations in the Aveiro district».

«BRIR was designed on September 15, with the mission of fighting rural fires, within the scope of DECIR 24, and is composed of: a tactical command vehicle (VCOT), two firefighting vehicles (VCI), a firefighting support vehicle (VTT) and an emergency ambulance (ABSC), in a total of five vehicles and 16 firefighters from the Fire Departments of Moura, Barrancos, Ferreira do Alentejo, Serpa and Vidigueira», concludes the Moura City Council.
