Castro Marim Council offered this Thursday, the 19th, worksheet books to all 1st cycle students of the municipality's School Group, in the subjects of Portuguese, Mathematics, Environmental Studies and English.
This initiative “aims to alleviate the high financial burden that the start of the school year represents for guardians and families”, according to the local authority.
Another objective “is to combat social exclusion, promoting equal opportunities in access to school and complementing the Government’s measure of providing school textbooks”.
In total, around 300 students were covered by this initiative and the books were delivered to classes at schools in Castro Marim, Altura and Odeleite.
