The Portuguese Association of Transporters of Unmarked Vehicles (APTAD) met last Monday, September 2nd, with Algarve TVDE operators and drivers to discuss the main challenges facing the sector.
The meeting “focused on critical problems for the sector, such as the lack of profitability of operators due to the increase in the supply of vehicles, aggravated by the tourist seasonality”, the “excess of vehicles on the market during the summer, which compromises the financial viability of drivers” and the “urgent need to update the sector’s regulations, as well as the review of some restrictions imposed by local authorities”, says APTAD.
“This meeting was crucial to understand the specific realities of the Algarve and how the sector can be supported to face the current challenges. APTAD will continue to work closely with its members to improve conditions for the sector across the country,” says Ivo Miguel Fernandes, from the Board of APTAD – TVDE Association.
