Algarve footballer Ricardo Mangas, who played for Vitória de Guimarães, has signed for Russian side Spartak Moscow for 2 million euros, the two clubs announced on Tuesday.
“The 26-year-old Portuguese, who plays on the left flank of both defence and attack, has signed a two-year contract with our club. Welcome to the red and white family, Ricardo,” the Russian capital’s emblem revealed on social media.
The transfer of the player, born in Olhão, yielded 2 million euros to the Minho SAD, in addition to 500 thousand euros in variables and the right to a 15% share in a future transaction, Vitória de Guimarães announced.
This will be the left-back's second experience abroad, after having played in French football in 2021/22, wearing the Bordeaux jersey, on loan from Boavista.
The player, who trained at Nazarenos, Marítimo Olhanense, Ferreiras, CB Portimão, Benfica and Tondela, played as a senior for Mirandela and Desportivo das Aves, in addition to the clubs already mentioned.
Last season, he played 38 games for Vitória, accumulating five goals and eight assists.
Spartak Moscow, which has already won 10 national championships, is in fourth place in the 2024/25 edition of the Russian Premier League.
