Daniel Lima, Daniela Campos, Maria Constança Marques and Raquel Dias will be the Algarve representatives in the Road Cycling World Championship, which will take place in Zurich, Switzerland, starting next weekend.
The Portuguese team will be represented by 19 riders at the cycling and paracycling World Championships, the Portuguese Cycling Federation announced this Monday.
«The competition will have selective routes, more in line with the characteristics of Portuguese runners than the routes of the recent European Championship, so national participation will have renewed ambition to fight for good results», the federation points out.
Loulé native Daniel Lima (Israel Premier Tech Academy) was one of the five chosen for the under-23 men's long-distance race, scheduled for September 27th.
In the women's sector, José Luis Algarra called up four runners, who will only participate in the long-distance races.
In the elite and under-23 categories, which compete on the 28th, Olympic athlete Daniela Campos (Eneicat-CMTeam), originally from Boliqueime, has been called up.
Two days before, the juniors Maria Constança Marques and Raquel Dias, both runners from Tavira/Extremosul/SC Farense, will run.
