Sea water temperature in the Algarve is above the average of the last 10 years

Temperature reached a maximum of 25.1°C

The Navy, through the buoy network of the Hydrographic Institute's integrated environmental monitoring system (MONIZEE), recorded, in recent days, a significant increase in the sea surface temperature in the Algarve, with Faro reaching a maximum of 25.1°C.

​However, the historical maximum for the last 10 years has not yet been surpassed, maintaining the record for the buoy of Faro Coastal temperature of 26.5°C reached on July 28, 2016 and for the buoy Faro Oceanic temperature of 26.3°C reached on September 6, 2021.​
