The search for the 29-year-old man, who has been missing since yesterday afternoon, was resumed this morning, announced the National Maritime Authority.
The young man will got into trouble when practicing Stand up paddle, in the Arade estuary, in the dredged area, south of Docapesca.
In the search operations, coordinated by the Port Captain and local Commander of the Portimão Maritime Police, crews from the Ferragudo lifeboat and members of the Portimão Volunteer Firefighters participate, by sea, with a team of divers.
On land, members of the Maritime Police participate, as well as the Portimão Volunteer Firefighters, supported by a drone.
The Maritime Police Psychology Office has been activated and is providing support to the person accompanying the victim.
According to what was possible to ascertain, the man disappeared in the river after getting into difficulties while returning from his fishing activity. Stand up paddle, and the friend who accompanied him and who was wearing a life jacket, managed to return to land by his own means and gave the alert.
