Paris2024: Algarvio Gabriel Albuquerque qualifies for the trampoline final

Athlete from Loulé has already secured at least an Olympic diploma

Gymnast Gabriel Albuquerque qualified for the men's trampoline final of the Paris2024 Olympic Games today, guaranteeing at least a diploma for Portugal.

In his first routine he had a score of 59.750 points, guaranteeing qualification before the end of the qualifications, as he could no longer be left out of the eight qualified for the final, which will be played at 19:45 local time (18:45 in Lisbon) , at Arena Bercy.

At 18 years old, and in his Olympic debut, the Algarve native has already secured at least one diploma for the Portuguese Mission, which in Paris2024 already has a bronze medal, for judoka Patrícia Sampaio (-78 kg), and four other diplomas.

Gabriel Albuquerque is the second Portuguese to compete in the trampoline final at an Olympic Games, after Nuno Merino was sixth in Athens 2004.
