“Lunch and Dine with Us” in Paderne, one of the Villages of Portugal, in the municipality of Albufeira. This is the invitation that the Chamber, the Parish Council of Paderne and the In Loco Association are making again, on Saturday, August 17th.
This is an initiative within the scope of the “Aldeias de Portugal” network that aims to promote local traditions and culture.
The program starts at 17:30 pm, with the reception of participants, at the Paderne Philharmonic Band building, and a guided visit to Casa do Acordeão, a unique museum space in the country, which presents a collection of more than 1500 dedicated pieces and photographs that musical instrument.
At 19:00 pm, at Ribeira de Alte (Coopaguial facilities) the program continues with a Empreita Workshop, a technique that consists of plaiting “slatted strips” of palm tree, one of the most recognized arts and rooted in the Algarve's intangible cultural heritage. Participation in this workshop for up to 10 people costs 5 euros, payable to the trainer on the day of the Workshop, but includes the necessary material.
As for dinner, it is served at 20:30 pm. The menu features typical regional delicacies: seasoned olives, roasted peppers, Algarve-style carrots, tiborna, fried chorizo, arjamolho, fried fish with tomato rice, chicken, seasonal fruit and regional sweets.
Finally, at 21:30 pm, the musical show “Mil e Uma Noites do Acordeão” takes place. On stage will be world champions Peter Maric (Serbia) and Iurie Chiforisin (Moldova), Jorge Alves, André Guerreiro and Francisco Sabóia, in a performance that promises moments of good music, culture and great entertainment.
The Albufeira Chamber recalls that the accordion is a musical instrument with strong roots in the Algarve region, having conquered, at the beginning of the 20th century, its own space in the Portuguese musical panorama, in popular music and folklore.

Dinner costs 17,50 euros for adults and 8 euros for children up to 10 years old (inclusive). Payment of 50% of the total amount must be made at the time of registration, via bank transfer to IBAN PT50 0045 7010 4000 0309 2586 0.
