In August, the Loulé Municipal Museum will continue its “Nights with Heritage” with guided visits to the Islamic Baths and Casa Senhorial dos Barreto, every Saturday, at 21 pm.
Every Saturday of the month, from 10:00 am to 23:00 pm, visitors will have the opportunity to get to know this museum space up close, which reveals not only the striking Islamic influences, but also the nobility of the early modern period.
The program includes thematic visits guided by Museum technicians, at 21 pm, covering various aspects related to the archaeology, history and museography of this heritage.
On August 3rd, Daniela Grelha brings the theme “From excavation to the museumization of an archaeological site”. On the 10th, it’s Rui Roberto de Almeida’s turn to speak “On the spirit and the stomach. 8 centuries of crockery and its uses”.
On the 17th, André Costa will make a visit with the motto “A starting point for Local History”. “A story in constant construction” is the theme presented by Ana Margarida Marques. Finally, on August 31st, Alexandra Pires will speak about “Stories kept between stones and objects”.
The Islamic Baths and the Barreto Manor House are unique testimonies of the history and culture of Loulé, and the Municipal Museum intends to value and publicize this important legacy through this initiative.
Guided visits are free, but require prior booking by calling 289 400 953.
