Neptuno raises awareness about the protection of the oceans on beaches in Aljezur

Environmental education action has already taken place on two beaches and will now go to another two

Neptune, the Roman God of the Sea, will pass by the beaches of Odeceixe and Monte Clérigo, in the municipality of Aljezur, on the 7th and 13th of August, respectively, to carry out environmental education actions.

This Roman God will be the main character of the play “The Awakening of Neptune”, which the Aljezur City Council is promoting on four beaches in the municipality – it has already been shown in Arrifana and Praia da Amoreira-Mar – as part of the Annual Health Plan. Environmental Education Activities of the Municipality for the year 2024, developed on the theme “The Sea Needs Leaders” of the Blue Flag Program.

This activity «aims to raise awareness among the entire population about the problem of waste accumulation in the oceans, in a fun and interactive way», according to Aljezur City Council.
