Loulé obtains 100% financing for the acquisition of 60 homes

The Municipality plans to formalize the acquisition during the 2nd quarter of 2025

The Municipality of Loulé has just signed with IHRU – Institute of Housing and Urban Rehabilitation the 20th financial contribution contract, 100%, for a total amount of 12 euros, for the acquisition of 895 dwellings.

The contract is, according to the municipality, an “extremely important document” and was signed under the 1st Right Program, and within the scope of the “Support Program for Access to Housing” of the Recovery and Resilience Plan.

The dwellings in question are still under construction and resulted from the proposed sale as part of the market consultation carried out by Loulé City Council. The Municipality plans to formalize the acquisition during the 2nd quarter of 2025.

According to the Loulé municipality, the application period for the competition will soon open, but with no set date yet, which will give access to supported rental and affordable rental, for a universe of 150 dwellings.

«It is worth highlighting the execution capacity of the Municipality of Loulé within the scope of the Local Housing Strategy 2019-2030, currently being among the 10 municipalities nationwide that have contracted the most under the PRR. Loulé has already had a total approved financing amount of 30 euros», the note also reads.
