Lagos City Council awarded two works to increase water efficiency and reduce losses in the municipal water supply network costing more than 2,6 million euros.
The largest investment, of almost 2 million euros, will be in the replacement of fiber cement pipelines that supply, from the Monte Lemos reservoir, the towns of Espiche and Almádena, in the parish of Luz. The work has an execution period of one year.
The other contract awarded aims to “reduce water losses in the distribution system under the influence of the RI reservoir in the city of Lagos” and will cost around 660 thousand euros, with an execution period of 180 days, according to the municipality.
Both interventions are included in the 2nd phase of the “Water Loss Reduction in the Municipality of Lagos” plan, “which envisages the renewal of supply networks with a high level of real losses, and is part of the application, already approved, for investments in value of 5,5 million euros to the PRR».
