Young gymnast Gabriel Albuquerque, who represents the Association of Parents and Friends of Gymnastics of Loulé (APAGL), takes action in the men's trampoline event at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games this Friday, with the aim of enjoying his debut in the competition.

«It was always my dream. There are not many words that describe what it means to be at the Olympic Games. It hasn't sunk in yet. I want to enjoy the moment. I have my goals, but this is the main one. Anything more is a reward", he says, speaking to the Portuguese Olympic Committee's communication channels.

The “benjamim” of the Portuguese mission, at 18 years old, will be present in the qualifying phase of the men's trampoline competition, this Friday, August 2nd, starting at 17pm, at Arena Bercy.

After two exercises, the best eight move on to the final, which takes place on the same day, at 18:45 pm.

Gabriel Albuquerque was selected by the Portuguese Gymnastics Federation to occupy the Olympic place won by Portugal in the Trampoline Gymnastics World Championship, in 2023.

The 4th place achieved in the Trampoline World Championships, in Birmingham, England, in November 2023, was his most important result on this journey.
