Algarve athlete Isaac Nader made his Olympic Games debut today by qualifying directly for the semi-finals of the men's 1.500 meter race at Paris'2024.
On the first day of action at the Stade de France, the midfielder from Faro he finished the second of three series in 6th place, with a time of 3m35,44s.
The Algarve athlete spent a good part of the race on the inside of the track, but responded in the final 200 meters with an acceleration that placed him among the six runners who advanced to the semifinals.
Isaac Nader, who records the eighth best time of the year among those registered, returns to the track on Sunday, the day on which the 'half' races take place, starting at 20:15 pm.
The 24-year-old Portuguese athlete's goal is to reach the final and do better than 12th place at the Budapest World Championships in 2023.
