Going to the Lagos Book Fair is traveling through all the editions of “Uma Aventura”

Book fair ends on August 15th

The Lagos Book Fair has already opened and with it the “Uma Aventura” exhibition was inaugurated, which will be on display at the Armazém Regimental until the end and which is made up of 66 panels.

The panels reproduce the covers of books written by Ana Maria Magalhães and Isabel Alçada, illustrated by Arlindo Fagundes, from the first book, dated 1, to the last, published last year.

It was up to the exhibition's curator, Nélson Mateus, who is also the author of a published work, to present this initiative to pay homage to the work of the authors and an essential collection of children's literature.

Furthermore, at the beginning of the Book Fair, the book by historian Artur de Jesus was presented.

This is the most recent edition of the City Council, this time dedicated to the Old Cemetery of Lagos.

According to the municipality, the work “reveals – from the observation of this cemetery landscape, its photographic record (carried out by Francisco Castelo) and the research that accompanied the work – the artistic symbolism of funerary monuments, as well as the culture, the society and the history of the city in the 19th and 20th centuries».

The 167-page book is available for sale at the municipality's Book Fair stand. Guided tours will soon be offered at the Old Lagos Cemetery.

The Lagos Book Fair will continue to liven up Praça do Infante, in Lagos, until the 15th of August, with several exhibitors, mostly booksellers, but where it is also possible to find vinyl records, crafts, chess, games traditions, living statues, stories and musical shows.
