São Brás de Alportel Emigrant Festival will have Chita Dresses parade

The festival takes place on the 16th and 17th of August

The São Brás de Alportel Emigrant Festival is back, on the 16th and 17th of August, with music, entertainment, tradition, gastronomy, tribute to emigrants and the return of the Chita Dresses parade.

«It's great to see this recognition for those who had to emigrate in search of new opportunities. Arriving here and having a world map waiting for us, leaving our mark, is simply fantastic. We feel cared for and graced. Thank you very much for such a beautiful party. It’s good to be here!”, confesses Teresa Teodoro Novo, a former emigrant in France.

The event opens with the sound of David Brito and Rúben Filipe, a Sambrasense duo that promises to liven up the night until Art Musa performs.

Just like last year, Art Musa returns to the stage at the Festa do Emigrante, this time with a band, after being nominated as one of the new bands and winning the Academic Week competition.

This year, União Sambrasense prepared the return of the emblematic Vestidos de Chita parade. The show required the collaboration of seamstresses, sponsors and models, who will parade on the catwalk in several dresses that will take you back in time and remember an event that marked the generations of Sambra.

On Saturday, the 17th, there will be a performance by Rancho Típico Sambrasense, followed by a performance by Luís Guilherme in a show in honor of Marco Paulo.

The night continues in honor of the emigrants with a performance by Carlos Granito.

To close the night, DJ Jexx takes the stage with electronic music, which will play until 2:30 am.
