Faro and Beja among the ten districts under yellow warning due to heat from Thursday

The yellow warning is issued when there is a risk situation for certain activities depending on the weather situation

Faro and Beja are two of the ten districts in the country that will be under yellow warning from Thursday due to the heat, extending on Friday to three more districts in the interior North.

According to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), the districts of Faro, Coimbra, Leiria, Santarém, Lisbon and Setúbal (until 18pm on Friday), in addition to Beja, Castelo Branco, Portalegre and Évora, where the warning extends until midnight on Saturday.

As of 9:00 am on Friday, the IPMA adds the yellow warning due to the heat to the districts of Guarda, Bragança and Vila Real.

Only the districts of Viana do Castelo, Braga, Porto, Aveiro and Viseu are without any warnings for these days.

The yellow warning is issued when there is a risk situation for certain activities depending on the weather situation.

A small increase in maximum temperature is expected for today, especially in the North and in the interior of the Central region.

Castelo Branco, with 34º Celsius, will be the hottest district, and Aveiro, Sines and Sagres (24º) the coolest today, but from Thursday temperatures will begin to rise and are expected to fluctuate between 38º and 40th in the interior of the country.
