Eduardo Marques drops to 9th position after four races in the ILCA 7 Olympic class

Sailor Eduardo Marques dropped today to 9th place in the general classification of the ILCA 7 men's class at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, after a total of four races.

In the first race of the second day of the race, in the Marseille marina, the athlete from the Algarve club Capable Planet was ranked 31st, while in the second race this Friday he was 15th.

With the worst result (31st) discarded in the official classification accounts, after a total of four regattas contested, Eduardo Marques remains in 9th place, with 31 net points, in a table led by New Zealander Matt Wearn (15).

In his Olympic debut, the Portuguese sailor will compete in a total of 10 races, two per day until next Monday, qualifying the 10 best for Tuesday's medal regatta.

The 30-year-old athlete represents Capable Planet Clube Náutico, based in Vilamoura, in the municipality of Loulé, and aims for a place in the “top-12”.
