Louletano and Esperança de Lagos will face each other in the first round of the Portuguese Football Cup, from which Lagoa and Ferreiras were exempt, dictated today the draw held in Cidade do Futebol.
A total of 113 clubs found out their fate in the draw for the first and second rounds of games, scheduled for the 8th and 22nd of September, respectively.
In relation to the Algarve teams, the highlight is the opening duel between Louletano, from the Campeonato de Portugal (CP), and Esp. Lagos, from the I District Division (D).
The third Algarve team in action in the first round will be Moncarapachense (CP), which hosts Grandolense, from the Setúbal district championship.
Among the 39 clubs that were exempt from the first round are Lagoa, recently promoted to CP, and Ferreiras, from the district ranks.
The second round will feature clubs from the II Football League, with Portimonense facing, in the Algarve, the winner of the Vianense-Vinhais game.
The draw also opened up the possibility of a new Algarve clash, as the winner of the Moncarapachense-Grandolense duel will receive the winner of the Louletano-Esp match. Lagos.
Still in the second round, Ferreiras will play away, traveling to Varzim, from League 3.
The I Liga teams, including Farense, only enter action in the third round of the premier competition of Portuguese football.
