During the month of July, Castro Marim City Council progressed with the treatment of its trees located in urban areas of the town and Altura, to prevent and control the pests that affect them.
In addition to the concern with reforestation, the Municipality is also investing in this «preventive strategy, through the application of plant protection products, by injection into the trunk of trees, via end-treatment devices», explains the municipality.
This procedure «is not harmful to the environment, replacing the massive spraying of tree tops».
The treatment will take place throughout the month of August on trees referenced by municipal services in the towns of Castro Marim and Altura.
