Plane reports technical problems and lands in Faro in safety

The flight was connecting Lutton airport and the Algarve capital

A plane made an emergency landing today at Gago Coutinho airport, in Faro, after reporting technical problems, and the landing took place safely, ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal reported.

At issue was a flight from the airline Ryanair, originating in London and ending in Faro, and, after landing, the operation at the international airport of Faro takes place “normally”, assured ANA.

The flight was connecting Luton airport and the Algarve capital and “declared an emergency due to technical problems”, said the company that manages Portuguese airports, when questioned by Lusa about the incident.

«The Gago Coutinho Airport Emergency Plan was activated-Faro suitable for this type of situation", indicated ANA, clarifying that the plane "landed safely at 12:27 pm".

Civil Protection activated the means of responding to emergency situations at the airport, having deployed 58 operators to the location, with 27 vehicles, but the landing took place safely and the activity proceeded normally.
