From this Thursday, August 1st, FlixBus will stop in the city center of Faro, next to Avenida da República, behind the Near – Bus Terminal of Faro.
The old stop, on Avenida Eng. Joaquim L. Belchior, next to Largo de São Francisco, will be deactivated, meaning that all national and international lines will now stop at this location.
The FlixBus stop at the airport Faro remains unchanged.
This is already the fourth change since FlixBus started operating in the city of Faro.
«We were receiving many complaints from passengers due to the lack of conditions and safety at the current FlixBus stop in the city, which led us to ask the City Council to Faro and the Transport Authority for an alternative stop, and this solution was proposed to us», explains Pablo Pastega, general director of FlixBus for Portugal and Spain.
«While not perfect, the new stop is better located, more central, and favors intermodality due to its proximity to urban and rail transport. It's safer, and, of course, it's more comfortable for passengers, as there are numerous support infrastructures in the area. With the efforts of the City Council of Faro and the Transport Authority, the change was able to be operationalized even before the summer peak», continues the person in charge.
«I believe it is a great added value for the thousands of passengers who travel to Faro and to the Algarve at this time», he concludes.
