Alte Professional School organizes walking tours to showcase the Geopark

Both tours are around 10 kilometers long and start at dusk (18pm)

The Alte Professional School will organize, on the 12th and 26th of July, two guided walking tours to introduce you to the territory of the aspiring UNESCO World Geopark – Algarvensis Loulé-Silves-Albufeira.

The Jurassic Sea is a guided walking tour that will reveal the secrets of a Tropical Sea that is around 150 million years old and passes through the Varjota geosite, known for its Megalapiás (Algarvensis reference geosite).

The tour takes place on the 12th of July, and features the participation of Hugo Campos, a member of the aspiring Geopark team, with a degree in Geological Engineering and a master's degree in Paleontology.

The Pedestrian Walk to Rocha do Soídos, which is also the Algarvensis reference geosite, allows you to enjoy the sunset in one of the highest and most sublime places in the Algarve (reference viewpoint, according to Turismo do Algarve) and takes place on the 26th July.

Both tours are around 10 kilometers long and start at dusk (18pm).

On the Jurassic Sea Tour, “dinner” will be served under the moonlight in the churchyard of the Ermida de S. Faustino, while on the Rocha dos Soídos tour, dinner will be optional at the Rosmaninho restaurant.

The tour menus as well as the products served for lunch will be based on the flavors of the mountains and the Algarve barrocal.

This initiative by Escola Profissional de Alte is in partnership with the Algarvensis Association. Registrations can be made here
