UHF join Banda Musical Castromarinense to mark Municipality Day

The date will also be marked with the launch of the new bio-waste collection in the municipality of Castro Marim

UHF will join Banda Musical Castromarinense for a concert on Castro Marim Municipality Day, on June 24th.

The program begins the day before, the 23rd, with a parade of shawls and scarves produced by graduates from the Universidade do Tempo Livre, at the Castro Marim Local Market, at 18pm.

At 20:00 pm, the Grande Arraial de São João will take place at Praça 1º de Maio, in Castro Marim, considered the highlight of the Popular Saints festivities, with a Popular Marches parade and musical entertainment provided by Duo Reflexo.

On the 24th, at 9:00 am, there will be the traditional Flag Raising, in the Paços do Concelho building, followed by a Eucharist at 10:00 am in the Igreja Matriz de Nossa Senhora dos Mártires.

One of the highlights of these celebrations will be the solemn session in the auditorium of the Castro Marim Municipal Library, which will be open to the public.

Another highlight of this municipal holiday will be the unveiling of the Educational Project “Our Natural Heritage through the eyes and hearts of our children”, a panel of tiles with illustrations produced by students from the Castro Marim School Group, which will be presented in the area surrounding the Casa do Sal, at 12:30 pm.

During Municipality Day, collaboration protocols will also be signed for the public use of the Verdelago development's sports facilities, as well as the expanded use of the recently created energy community.

The date will also be marked with the launch of the new bio-waste collection in the municipality of Castro Marim.

Municipality Day will end in a festive atmosphere, with a concert by the Portuguese rock group UHF, accompanied by Banda Musical Castromarinense, which celebrates its 100th anniversary, at Revelim de Santo António, at 22pm.
