Tavira marks City Day with “Quatro e Meia” and project for an external consultation building

Until the 29th, there will be Arraial and Sardinhada, always at Jardim do Coreto, at 21pm

Tavira will mark this Monday, June 24th, City Day, with the presentation of the project for the new Health Center External Consultations building and a concert by the band “Os Quatro e Meia”. 

This year, the celebrations begin with a sunrise walk, at 06:14 am, departing from Praça da República. At 10:30 am, the flag-raising ceremony will take place at Paços do Concelho.

The ceremony continues at the Álvaro de Campos Municipal Library, where medals for good service and dedication will be awarded to employees with 20 and 30 years of service and municipal merit to local entities and figures who have distinguished themselves, in society, through their journey.

City Day will also be marked by the inauguration of Rua do Cais, at 15:30 pm, and the presentation of the project for the new Health Center External Consultations building, which will take place at 16:00 pm, in the Salão Nobre, in Tavira City Council.

The day ends with a dance at Jardim do Coreto at 21pm, with Ruben Filipe and the Os Quatro e Meia concert, at 00pm, at Praça da República.

There will also be a party, the usual celebration of the Popular Saints until this Sunday, the 23rd.

There will be a Popular Ball at Jardim do Coreto, at 21pm, followed by the Rancho Folclorico da Luz de Tavira, at 00pm.

The performance of Lenda da Moura Encantada, written by Armação do Artista, returns to the walls of the Castle of Tavira, at 22:30 pm. The night ends with a video mapping show in Praça da República, at midnight, as an alternative to the usual fireworks.

Also on the 24th, the Associação Praça dos Livros Livres (APLL), will bring to the iconic space of Palácio da Galeria de Tavira, at 11 am, tales and legends from the city of Tavira.
