Government launches this month the first PEPAC competition with 20 ME for beekeepers

The Government will launch, by the end of the month, the first competition under the Common Agricultural Policy Strategic Plan (PEPAC), with 20 million euros for beekeepers, it was announced yesterday.

“We will launch, by the end of this month, the first competition within the scope of PEPAC”, said the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, José Manuel Fernandes, after the second round of interventions by deputies from the parliamentary committee on Agriculture, which received 14 entries. .

According to the official, the issue involves global support of 20 million euros for beekeepers.

The exact date for the release of the notice has not been disclosed.

In the third quarter of this year, tenders are planned to be launched for the processing industry, financing ponds or to mitigate the impact of hail and frost.

The holder of the Agriculture and Fisheries portfolio also said that, “hardly”, notices will be opened this year in the context of forests.

The minister's hearing was requested by the Chega, PSD and CDS-PP parliamentary groups.

At this hearing, the minister had already mentioned that the reprogramming of PEPAC should be completed in the short term, explaining that the measures adopted aim to increase farmers' income.
