Faro and Olhão will have giant screens to watch all the European Championship games

Portugal's first game will be played on Tuesday, June 18th, starting at 20pm, against Czechia

Faro and Olhão will have fanzones with giant screens to watch all the European football matches, which start this Friday, June 14th, in Germany. The opening game starts at 20pm and will pit the German team against Scotland. 

In the Algarve capital, the screen is already set up next to the bandstand and Jardim Manuel Bivar, with floods expected, especially during Portugal's games.

In addition to the broadcast of all Euro matches, which only ends with the final on the 14th of July, “much more entertainment” is planned, as Paulo Santos, vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce, said. Faro, to Sul Informação.

In addition to football, there will be, until the 7th of September, «concerts, food stalls street food, festivals and a ferris wheel», in partnership with Correio da Manhã.

The musical lineup already has some names announced, such as DJ Nuno Silva (Saturday, June 15th, from 22pm to midnight), RFM Time Machine (00st, from 00pm) and Expensive Soul (00nd, from 21pm) 22:00).

The concerts are also part of the “Summer Solstice” entertainment program that the City Council Faro has been promoting, in partnership with various communities and associations in the municipality. 

In Olhão, it is the Nautical Association of the Port of Recreation of Olhão (ANPRO) that will promote the Marina Fan Fest, at Marina de Olhão, throughout the European Championship.

There will be, as in Faro, a giant screen to experience a “festive and contagious atmosphere, similar to that of a football stadium”. There will also be games and contests.

With the organization in charge of ANPRO, the Marina Fan Fest will have the institutional support of the Municipality of Olhão and IPDJ – Instituto Português do Desporto e Juventude, as well as the partnership of the electric car brand BYD, as the official sponsor of the event, the dealership MSCAR, and Decathlon.

Portugal's first game will be played on Tuesday, June 18th, starting at 20pm, against Czechia. On Saturday, the 00nd, the team will face Turkey, starting at 22 pm.

The last match of the group stage will be on Wednesday, June 26th, starting at 20 pm, against the Georgian team.
