Companies have until July 31st to deliver Simplified Business Information

The IES is a declaration that aggregates information of a fiscal, accounting and statistical nature

Companies will have approximately 15 more days to deliver the Simplified Business Information (IES), with the new deadline ending on July 31, according to a Government order.

In the order, now published, the Secretary of State for Fiscal Affairs Cláudia Reis Duarte justifies the measure with the need to delay the deadline for the delivery of the IES (July 15th) with the delivery of the annual IRC declaration, which the previous Government extended it to that same day.

Thus, the diploma states that, by decision of the previous Government, the delivery of the periodic IRC income declaration for the 2023 tax period (model declaration 22) and the respective payment, «can be fulfilled until the 15th of July, without any additions or penalties» .

Taking into account that «such date coincides with the date for compliance with the obligation to deliver Simplified Business Information/Annual Declaration of Accounting and Tax Information (IES/DA)» and «this may imply increased difficulties in compliance on the part of of the respective taxpayers", namely by concentrating a greater number of accesses to the Finance Portal on the same day, the order determines that "the obligation to deliver the IES/DA can be fulfilled by July 31st, without any additions or penalties" .

The IES is a declaration that aggregates information of a fiscal, accounting and statistical nature, submitted by companies and individuals with organized accounting, electronically, through the Finance Portal.
